Description by the author

The R2 circular hiking trail takes you far out of the city. Past the dreaded witches' lime tree on Höberück, the "Schau-Ins-Land-Hütte" is aptly named. Behind you, picturesque valley views of the village of Mündershausen open up. Here you immerse yourself in the dense, green forests until you reach the intermediate destination of the tour, the "Hohe Buche", an important junction on the former trade route. On the way back, you follow the babbling Mündersbach stream from its source, named after a former forester of the town of Rotenburg and forest protector, Karl Schurian, back to the town.
