Premiumwanderweg Extratour Ronshausen

The circular hike leads through three picturesque valleys, the Marbach, Steinbach and Silzerbach valleys, with wide meadows, streams and ponds, into the high forest, past mighty veteran trees.
Sections of the Steinbachtal adventure trail with geocaching and the Iba nature adventure trail provide a sporty and informative change of pace. The Allerhättenberg guarantees remarkable views. The Ronshausen extra tour can be walked on both sides without a map.

Character of the trail:Mixed forest in its purest form, mountain ranges, places with mushrooms, mosses and ferns, picturesque valleys with wide meadows, streams and fish ponds make for a varied hike with many natural elements. The Allerhättenberg (380 m) guarantees remarkable views of mountains, heights and peaks with good visibility, e.g. Seulingswald, Vogelsberg, Rimberg, Alheimer, Hoher Meißner and Richelsdorfer Gebirge.
7 rest areas, 3 shelters and many benches invite you to linger.

Interesting detours and special features:Machtlos resort: beautiful half-timbered houses, church, hiking parking lot and Ronshausen vacation park (approx. 900 m)

Friedrichshütte: The smelter was built in 1732 by Landgrave Friedrich I of Hesse as a smelting works for the Kurhessen copper slate mining industry. The manager of the hut was Wilhelm Grimm's brother-in-law. Some of the Grimm brothers' fairy tales originated from the stories told by his wife Dortchen Wild-Grimm.

The Hessen Extratour Ronshausen can also be hiked in two sections in conjunction with the local R 5 hiking trail from Friedrichseiche to Allerhättenberg.
