Description by the author

The Eisenberg Gold Trail is more than just an educational trail. It impressively documents the traces of historical mining at Germany's richest gold deposit. The Gold Trail is divided into two independent sections, which can be hiked separately. The first section describes the most important traces of the gold miners in Goldhausen and around the Eisenberg castle ruins with the Georg Viktor Tower on the summit of the Eisenberg using 11 information stations (as well as outstation 12). This first trail has a length of approx. 3.3 km. You should allow around 1.5 hours for the walk.
