From the hiking parking lot, walk about 400 m northeast next to the country road to the refuge. Turn right here to the Sonnenberg and continue downhill to the country road. Before reaching the road, turn left along the edge of the forest. Then turn right to the water treading pool and continue to the country road. Turn right here for 50 m and take the tarmac field path to the left. Turn right before the buildings and continue straight ahead in the forest to the Holzhausen refuge. Continue straight ahead along the field path for another 200 m, then turn right uphill in the forest to the country road. Turn left alongside the road and walk back to the starting point (approx. 350 m).
