Fabelweg "Hutewaldweg"

A beautiful low mountain range landscape full of impressive forest scenery - that's what the Hutewaldweg offers. The eponymous Hutewald forest is particularly magical with its often bizarre, 300-year-old trees. With its very own flora and fauna, it has been a nature reserve for years. Where poor forest farmers once herded their cattle, fantastic giant trees have grown over the years. Beech trees with expansive treetops stand far apart from each other and are often reminiscent of mystical creatures. This fabulous atmosphere will not only inspire the imagination of children... isn't the old beech tree there an "Ent" from "Lord of the Rings"? The typical character of this unique forest is preserved today by grazing wild horses.
At the start and finish of the hike, a barbecue area with a forest stage and water treading pool invites you to take a longer break.
Following successful recertification by the German Hiking Institute, the Hutewaldweg is now officially a premium hiking trail.
