The Hanseatic town of Korbach, the town of Waldeck and the municipality of Edertal invite you to take a tour along one of the most spectacular cycle paths in Hesse. Discover the Waldecker Land on the former route of the Ederseebahn, which once connected the Ruhr area and Amsterdam with the spa town of Bad Wildungen.
The cycle path, which is asphalted throughout, is easy to manage for all cyclists with a maximum gradient of two percent. Refreshment stops along the way offer refreshment and relaxation if you want to take a break. Along the way, many relics bear witness to the railroad past: picturesque bridges, old railroad stations, two tunnels and, above all, the 28-metre-high and 180-metre-long viaduct in Waldeck-Selbach, a highlight of the tour.
The start of the Ederseebahn cycle path is on the southern outskirts of Korbach. There are good parking and rest facilities here (also for motorhomes), a tube machine, a repair station and information boards with information about the town of Korbach and the cycle paths around the town. A restored historic locomotive and old signal systems are reminders of the old railroad line.
