Description by the author

The highland cycle route starts in Treysa (Mainzer-Brücke) and ends in Gilserberg at the town hall.
You cycle through the Hessian low mountain regions of the Schwalm, the Gilserberg highlands past the Kellerwald forest towards the Burgwald forest. This cycle route offers all kinds of road surfaces (tar, gravel, forest floor and dirt tracks) for experienced cyclists. You can expect steep ascents with long descents and a landscape rich in fields and forests with beautiful views.
With a length of approx. 12.5 km, there are 419 vertical meters to overcome. It is recommended that you follow the GPS track, as this cycle route is not fully signposted.
Notes: In Treysa, the route leads through Bahnhofstraße according to the track. To get to Sachsenhäuser Straße, please use the pedestrian lights at the crossing!
