Fabelweg 'Schwan am Silbersee'

If you look closely along the way, you will recognize traces of the past in the landscape. The mining nature trail, which this premium hiking trail partly follows, brings the mining history of this place to life in the colliery area. But the landscape itself also has a lot to tell: Young pioneer forest, for example, covers ground formerly torn up by mining, while old beech forests were spared from mining.
Formerly a lignite mine, today a lake and popular excursion destination - in summer, the Silbersee is full of bathers, in winter it is quiet and tranquil. With a bit of luck, you might spot the Silbersee swan elegantly circling the lake.
