The "Hufeisen" nature park hiking parking lot is the starting point. A neighboring mountain with a height of 411m is its namesake. At the Hufeisen, you are very close to the federal state of Bavaria and the Franzosenkopf, at 484m, exactly on the state border. The hiking route initially leads along a narrow path down into the Lützel valley. From there, the hiking trail climbs uphill again in three stages in the forest to the edge of the Hainkeller Celtic rampart. The trail leads back to the horseshoe via the Rauen Heil hill.
The recommended walking direction is anti-clockwise.
