The Spessart trail through the Gelnhausen town forest starts at the log cabin. It continues through the forest around the Mühlbachskopf and past the town's Kamphütte until it reaches the "Steinigen Weg". Below the "Habernickel" at 334.2 m above sea level, the trail branches off to the south and reaches the "Heinrichshöhe" with views of the Kinzig valley and the town of Gelnhausen. After several switchbacks, the trail now climbs uphill again along a footpath through the old vineyards and quarries. A stop at the log cabin is highly recommended.
