We take it easy on the 1st stage upstream. At Lahnstein, the Lahn flows into the Rhine as a wide river. The castles of Lahneck and Stolzenfest rise romantically above the two rivers. Via Dausenau, whose medieval town center with the town wall and the leaning tower lies on the opposite side of the Lahn, the 1st upstream stage now continues through the nature park to

with Nassau-Oranien Castle perched high on the hill.
