From the sea of vines to the towpath along the Rhine
From the starting point at Drobollacher Platz, the Riesling Loop quickly leaves the houses of Oberwalluf behind. The first wonderful resting place is at the Sonnenberghäuschen. The view sweeps over to Eltville with the Electoral Castle and the imposing church tower of St. Peter and Paul. Swans and storks often gather in the fields around the Steinheimer Hof. On this Rieslin gSchleife you come very close to the Rhine on the towpath. In the past, ships were laboriously pulled up the Rhine on towpaths by people or horses. Today, the paths directly along the waterways are idyllic trails. Herons and wild geese hide in some places. In Niederwalluf, the Wallufbach flows into the Rhine. The small park around the wine barrel with a view of the sailing harbor invites you to rest and linger. The trail leads back to Oberwalluf along the Walluf and through Mühlstraße.
