The short hike from Rickenbach down into the valley of the Hauensteiner Murg boasts fantastic views of the Alps as well as a romantic section along the river.
The landscape in the Hotzenwald is characterized by a mix of sunny plateaus and steep-sided river valleys. This is also the case on today's tour, which reflects precisely this juxtaposition of different types of landscape: The narrow Murg Valley forms a clear contrast to the open fields near Rickenbach. The Wickartsmühle quarry is also an interesting geotope.
