Description

If you want to see far, you have to climb high. If you want to start at Schützenplatz, the path begins directly at the parking lot halfway up. Somewhat hidden, it goes into the forest and uphill. Please pay attention to the markings.
After about 10 minutes, you will reach the top. On the left side, you will be greeted by a paddock with horses, and on the right side, you will find the Weinberghotel Edelacker. It is infamous for offering a magnificent sunset over Freyburg from its outdoor terrace during dinner. It is worth making a reservation.
Once you have passed the hotel, after a few minutes, you will reach Neuenburg Castle, which towers high above Freyburg. It houses a museum and several exhibitions.
After enjoying the splendid view at the fountain, you will descend through the gate and turn left along the castle wall. A short time later, you will be back down below. From there, you continue along the path into the city center.
