Circular route Kleinfriedenthal

Short description

Following the footsteps of the Dukes of Saxony-Weißenfels to the former hunting lodge Klein-Friedenthal.

Description

The hike starts at the parking lot of Neuenburg Castle and the Weinberghotel Edelacker.

Then the path leads through an old tree avenue into the forest, which initially runs through a forest cemetery.
Along the edge of the forest, you will reach the hunting lodge Klein-Friedenthal. Previously, there was a zoo with pleasure garden and the Palais Klein-Friedenthal here.
The hike takes you to Windberg, where you can enjoy a view of the wine town of Freyburg.
The return path leads through a sparse forest, offering occasional views of the valley towards the wine town and the vineyards.
Alternatively, you can start the hike in Freyburg, starting at the Schützenplatz (parking lot).

Route description

The starting point of the hike is the parking lot of Neuenburg Castle, to the former hunting lodge Klein-Friedenthal, viewpoint Windberg, and back to the parking lot of Neuenburg Castle.
