After an eventful boat trip across the Pöhl dam from the landing stage near the dam wall, the boat docks at the Altensalz stop. In the picturesque village, with its former salt spring and 700-year-old church with a Gothic wooden ceiling with Baroque ornamental painting, the actual six-kilometre hike along the banks of the dam back to the starting point begins.
The tour is part of the signposted dam circular trail, which offers great views of the Pöhl dam. During the tour, there are several places to stop for refreshments and many places that invite you to linger in nature.
