Switch sides again to head for Wehr on the right-hand side of the Wehratalschlucht gorge. Again and again, there are views down to the east side of the valley. With a bit of luck, you may spot chamois on the steep walls. At the rest area at the Mettlerhütte, you have one last opportunity to enjoy the view of the Swiss Alps. The trail gradually loses altitude until you cross the dam wall of the Wehra reservoir. This is followed by an easy run along the river to the finish station in the castle park with the Old and New Castle of the Lords of Schönau, the center of the weaving and textile town of Wehr.
