The landscape to the north towards Freyenstein does not immediately reveal its historical significance - the tour first passes along an old Hanseatic trade road before it heads through old colonist villages into the Dosse lowlands and Freyenstein. The invisible town with its medieval streets and houses can be experienced here, hidden beneath the earth. Just a few metres further on is the romantic old and new Renaissance palace, surrounded by centuries-old trees. The return trip to Wittstock is via the legendary Niemerlang across the expanses of the Prignitz.
