Second Stage “Oderland Trail”: Falkenberg/Mark - Wölsickendorf

The second stage of the Oderland Trail covers 14 kilometres from Falkenberg/Mark to Wölsickendorf. This stage also has plenty to offer when it comes to attractive scenery: At first it feels as though you are walking through a low mountain range, then the trail takes you down into a valley basin that is home to Cöthener Park. The hike starts with the climb to the Karlsburg. From there it twists and turns, rises and falls into an idyllic blind valley and through Cöthen Park. The sounds of the River Cöthen follow the hiker through the town. Turn left as you leave the town: The path to the left leads into the Gamengrund conservation area and on to Lake Kleiner Gamensee. It continues along the east bank of the lake. Soon we reach the rest area by Lake Großer Gamensee. The path meanders past several small lakes with water lilies and over a few minor altitude differences.
