The trail path leads along the eastern bank of the River Malxe. After passing under the Forst-Cottbus railway line, it continues as far as the Nixen weir. Continue along the side of the oak forest past the pond holding tanks, passing between the Euloer ponds until you come to the Malxe Bridge. From here, visitors are treated to a panoramic view along the River Malxe and across extensive meadows to Mulknitz. The “Euloer Bruch” begins west of the River Malxe, an area designated as a nature conservation area as far back as 1936. On the one side the pond area, on the other side the swampland. The trail continues onto the Sängerbank, a bench set up in one of the most picturesque spots on the flood channel. From here, the trail continues through a mixed forest past the ice pit, and back to the Teichstrasse road. In times gone by, the ice floes from the ponds would have been insulated in straw, packaged and stored in the ice pot, to then be transported in summer to Forst (Lusatia) to cool ice cabinets. Today, only one edge of the ice cellar can be seen on the Jamnoer Hill. The hiking trail crosses the Teichstrasse and ,after about 30 metres, bends left into the woodland. On the left of the trail is the “Schützenteich” pond, and on the right the “Klein Jamnoer” pond. Following the signs, along the southern shore of the ponds, you finally come to the road that links Groß Jamno to Klein Jamno. There are lots of opportunities to observe nature along this stretch of the trail. The old transformer station overlooking the village green has been established as a home for many species of bird. In Klein Jamno, in the direction of Forst (Lusatia), the circular trail follows “Zum Eiskeller” road as far as the railway bridge. Turn right there and return to your starting point.
