WA 2 Rems und Reben

Here you can experience the typical cultural landscapes of the Lower Rems Valley: green orchards, well-tended vineyards and the Rems floodplains, some of which are protected. The 6.6-kilometre route from the village of Waiblingen Neustadt via Sörenberg down to the Rems and on to Waiblingen's old town with a wide selection of places to stop for refreshments is varied and easy. Along the way, there is a barbecue area on the Sörenberg, an educational wine trail, the Neustadt gypsum mill and St. Martin's Church to discover.

On the easy, varied "Rems and Vines" hiking trail, you will experience various cultural landscapes that characterize the Lower Rems Valley over 6.6 kilometers. At the beginning, the trail leads past orchards up the Sörenberg. From there, there is a magnificent view over the well-tended vineyards of the Sörenberg in Waiblingen-Neustadt. Information boards on the Neustadt wine trail explain interesting facts about viticulture. Past the gypsum mill, St. Martin's Church with its medieval frescoes and the village of Neustadt, the route descends to the Rems. You walk upstream to Waiblingen's old town with a direct view of the Rems. The trail ends at Galerieplatz with the House of City History and the Stihl Waiblingen Gallery.
