On this circular hike, different types of forests alternate. You will walk through beech, spruce, and pine forests, with stretches of old gnarled tree shapes. Then you cross the Hörpel Heath, which can now be seen in its entirety. And soon the ascent to the Holzberg at the top of the Totengrund begins, which now lies in full splendor below you.
