Follow the barrel trail through Einbeck!

Have you already spotted the little white beer barrels on the ground in the historic Old Town? Then you are ready to go! The painted symbols will show you the way on Einbeck’s beer barrel path. They will take you from the Old Town Hall in the pedestrian precinct to the brewery Einbecker Brauhaus on the square Neustädter Kirchplatz.

Along the path, you will find eight large barrels made of metal. There is no way to overlook them! On every barrel, you will learn something about the history of our delicious beer and our beautiful town. Our romantic Einbeck is actually home of the bock beer and a gem of medieval town architecture! Both is closely linked: The tasty bitter brew was so popular that it was already exported to far-away parts of middle and northern Europe 600 years ago. And this made the former Hanseatic town a lot of money – even today the richly ornamented timber-framed architecture of the former brewing houses bears witness of this wealth.
