Heinrich Engelhard initially repaired grand pianos on the side until he established himself as a piano maker in 1836. He specialized in building pianos and emigrated to New York with his family in 1850. There, they founded the internationally renowned company Steinway & Sons. The Steinweg family, later Steinway, always maintained contact with their Harz homeland and regularly came to visit. Even today, numerous traces of the family can be found in Wolfshagen im Harz and Seesen. Embark on the trail and learn more about the history of the Steinways.
