This 18 km long circular hiking trail takes you from Alfeld through the forested area of the Seven Mountains. You can expect great views over the Leinebergland.From the hiking parking lot in Alfeld, follow the red Hödeken, a dwarf-like legendary figure of the region, uphill towards Himmelberg. Once at the top, the Himmelberg tower entices with its dreamy view. After 119 steps, in good weather, you can enjoy a view of the city of Alfeld, over the Seven Mountains ridge all the way to the Brocken in the Harz.Next stop is the Adamishütte, a shelter and hiking hut with barbecue facilities that invites you to take a break. The varied path then leads through the forested mountain landscape along Heim, Lauens, Osten, and Saalberges.At Brüggen, there is an opportunity to take a short detour to the Hohen Tafel. At 395 meters, the Tafelberg, as it is also called, is the highest of the Seven Mountains. Here too, you will find the Tafelbergturm, an observation tower that offers a great view over the forests and vast fields of the Leinebergland. You will walk along the edge of the forest with a view of the Leine Valley, passing through the town of Eimsen back to the starting point.
