Bridge cycle path

The Bridge Cycle Path connects two culturally significant Hanseatic cities on two parallel routes. On the more than 300-kilometer long long-distance cycle path, there is much to discover: The city of Osnabrück scores points with a rich cultural offer, diverse shopping opportunities, and an extensive range of gastronomy. Bremen entices with its outstanding attractions such as the Bremen Town Musicians and its marketplace, which is considered one of the most beautiful in Germany. The many bridges that make the long-distance cycle path so characteristic have given the Bridge Cycle Path its name. A special feature of the Bridge Cycle Path are its two route options. The western route is about 165 kilometers long and runs, among other places, via Vechta, where you can, for example, visit the former arsenal of the Vechta citadel, showcasing the 900-year history of the penal system. The eastern route is about 149 kilometers long and leads from Osnabrück to Bremen, also making a detour through the district town of Diepholz. The long-distance cycle path connects three nature parks, the Terra vita Nature Park Osnabrücker Land, the Dümmer Nature Park, and the Wildeshauser Geest Nature Park. But other diverse natural landscapes are also not to be missed – you will pass by fascinating moor areas, river landscapes, extensive forests, the Wiehengebirge mountain range, as well as the Dammer Mountains. Connecting paths between the two routes are set up and appropriately signposted.
