From the hunting lodge Holte, which today houses private apartments, we cycle through the Holter Wald and the magnificent Sennelandscape. The Furlbachtal near Augustdorf transports us into a bizarre dune landscape. After comfortably crossing the Teutoburg Forest through the so-called Dörenschlucht, we reach the vicinity of the cultural city of Detmold, at the foot of the Hermannsdenkmal. The tour takes us past other worthwhile destinations: the Vogelpark Heiligenkirchen, the LWL Open-Air Museum Detmold, and the Adlerwarte Berlebeck, which is considered Europe's oldest bird of prey sanctuary. We cycle through the Teutoburg Forest to Horn-Bad Meinberg. On the way to the stage destination, we also pass the legendary Externsteine, one of the landmarks of the Teutoburg Forest and a place of spiritual power.
