From the Widukind Museum to the Enger Bruch

The nature tour around the town of Enger starts in the city center, follows the legendary Widukind with his own museum there, and then turns north to a typical Sattelmeierhof, the Nordhof. Past the former home of the famous book author and biologist Rolf Dircksen, it continues over Sieke and stream valleys until the old tracks of the Kleinbahn are crossed for the first time. The journey continues towards Ringsthof, past the old Bismarck oak tree and an enchanted transformer hut. Lonely Heuerling houses remind of the poor rural population who worked in the fields during the day and at the loom at night. In the Enger Bruch, rare migrating or breeding birds can be observed with some luck. Shortly before the end of the tour, a visit to the tannery museum is worthwhile.
