Monument Route Widukindstadt Enger

This rural circuit around the Widukindstadt Enger offers culture and relaxation in a quiet environment and leads through the gently rolling landscape. The Widukindstadt Enger is the starting and ending point. The Jahnplatz is the best starting point. From here, it is only a short distance to the Enger Bruch nature reserve. With a bit of luck, you can observe rare migratory and breeding birds. Leaving the marsh behind, you reach the Sattelmeierhöfe in Westerenger. The highest point of the route is reached at Ringsthof. In Pödinghausen, there are several options to stock up on drinks and food before passing by two more historic farms in Oldinghausen. For a particularly beautiful picnic during the bike tour, the Liesbergmühle in Enger is a must. Located on a hill, the fantastically restored windmill offers a wonderful viewpoint. From here, you return to the historic city center of Enger. Listed buildings, impressive churches, old factories, and small but very fine museums complete the tour.
The route mainly leads over lightly trafficked roads, independent cycle paths, and paved agricultural roads, some of which are closed to through traffic. This makes the circuit suitable for families with children.
