R3 - Over the heights of Radevormwald

From the starting point (Hohenfuhrstraße parking lot, town hall, city center Radevormwald), we turn left into Hohenfuhrstr., at the traffic light intersection turn left into Kaiserstr. until the curve at the intersection of Alte Landstr./Hohenstr., straight ahead over Hohenstr., onto the bike path along B 229 through Rädereichen/roundabout to Grüne. To the left, the bike path leads along B 483, passing the Leye glider airfield. At the end of the bike path, the tour continues on the federal road. Use the pedestrian crossing! (Watch out for car traffic) On the right side of the federal road (no bike path), we continue and turn right after 400 m towards Filde. On a lightly trafficked country road, leading through fields, forests, and meadows. In the village of Filde, the road turns right and we cycle down to the Ennepe dam. Before the dam wall, we turn right and ride on a well-developed road only open to local traffic, along the very picturesque dam towards the village of Böckel. At the end of the approximately 2 km section between water and forest, the bike path continues straight to the hamlet of Böckel. After a short, steep climb of 300 m, continue straight on a field path for 50 m and then turn right. A dreamlike landscape with an impressive view of the Ennepe dam "strengthens" the cyclist for the slight ascent of about 1 km to the village of Born. Please drive carefully when passing through the hamlets! The route continues straight on the lightly trafficked road over the northeastern ridges of Radevormwald through the villages of Borbeck, Schmitten- and Oberschmittensiepen, Klaukenburg past the state forest, which accompanies us on the left side. After about 2.2 km in the village of Eich, we drive to the stop sign (watch out for car traffic) and turn right. The journey continues on the bike path along B 229 to Grafweg to the village of Grüne. Here we cross the intersection of B 229/B 483 using the pedestrian crossing. Continue straight and on the bike path along B 229 through Rädereichen/roundabout. At the end of the bike path, continue on Hohenstr. to the intersection of Alte Landstr./Kaiserstr., continue straight on Kaiserstr., (watch out for car traffic) where we turn right towards the center. After about 1 km, turn right at the traffic light intersection, over Hohenfuhrstr. after 800 m the parking lot town hall/starting point, located on the right side of the street, is reached again.
