Beautiful hiking trails open up the Dhünn and Eifgen valleys. Hardly anyone would suspect that once there was a center of the gunpowder industry here. Where hikers seek relaxation, factories stood until 1919, using water power to produce gunpowder in their mills. The observant hiker discovers the remains of the mills, water ditches, and weirs from that time in the Helenental.
