The Hude is the historical grazing of forest areas with livestock and today only occurs extremely rarely. Here in the nature reserve on the Räuschenberg, the dry grassland areas are grazed by goats. They eat the leaves and young shoots to keep bushes and shrubs small, allowing rare orchids and herbs to develop on the open spaces.
Along the way, there are always great views of Brenkhausen and the monastery complex there, as well as of the runway of the airfield.
