Höxter | Visiting Hessen

Get to know the Weser Cycle Path and the beautiful Weser Uplands on this circular tour through three federal states. Heading upstream, you will always stay on the right side of the river until Bad Karlshafen. Along the way, you will pass by great viewpoints and rest areas, but also have numerous opportunities for refreshments. Special highlights are certainly the castle and castle park in Wehrden, the Ackerbürgerstadt Beverungen, or the monastery Herstelle located on top of the mountain. Bad Karlshafen itself is an old Huguenot city and surprises with an appearance entirely atypical for the Weser Uplands.

On the way back, you will use the other side of the Weser and cycle comfortably through Würgassen, Lauenförde, and Fürstenberg back to Höxter. Enjoy the intense scent of the large strawberry fields in Meinbrexen during strawberry season or take a break in Fürstenberg and walk the short forest path up to the Museum of the Porcelain Manufactory Fürstenberg.
