Adel verpflichtet - Cycle route through Halle (Westf.), Borgholzhausen and Werther

At the baroque water castle Tatenhausen, you start and soon drive through the rushing Tatenhausener forest, past the idyllically located forest chapel Stockkämpen to the parking lot at the water castle Holtfeld. Take a look at the magnificent Weser Renaissance facade. Next is the old peasant community Hesseln and at the Teutoburg Forest the formidable castle Ravensberg greets you. The tour continues through the Ravensberger Hügelland to the gingerbread town of Borgholzhausen. With the water castle Brincke in the district of Barnhausen, you will then find an impressive two-island complex consisting of a manor house, castle chapel, gatehouse, farm building, courtyard house, and castle walls. The tour now leads you directly to the historic center of the Böckstiegel town Werther (Westf.). To visit the citizens' meeting place "Haus Werther", formerly a manor and noble residence, follow the signs. After crossing Werther, you will tackle a short, sweat-inducing climb to the ridge of the Teutoburg Forest. Reward yourself with the spectacular panoramic view of the Münster lowlands. At your feet lies the linden town of HalleWestfalen. Ride through the Eggeberger Schweiz with refreshing wind down to the former district town. The "Haller Herz", a unique half-timbered ensemble around the St. John's Church from the 13th century, is your last stop before cycling back to the water castle Tatenhausen.
