The "Eremitage Pilgrimage Site" on Rödgen, which is more than 300 years old and listed as a monument, includes, among other things, a chapel, a hermit's cell, a shrine with the hermit's grave, a Stations of the Cross, and a forest altar. The tradition of pilgrimages to the Virgin Mary is still maintained here. The architectural style of the chapel, built in 1684, is reminiscent of the Renaissance, but also combines elements of the Gothic style. Inside the chapel is a Baroque altar from 1736. The hermit's cell is one of the oldest half-timbered buildings in the Siegerland region.
A little off the beaten path is the approximately 16-meter-high headframe tower typical of the Siegerland region, along with the shaft building. Inside the shaft building, known as the "Hängebank," there is an exhibition that deals with the social history of mining, the surveyor and his work, as well as the history of the Grimberg mine.
