The "Herzwege" have their origin in the spa area of Bad Laasphe. They represent a modern health training within the holistic view of body, mind, and soul and serve as exercise therapy and relaxation training through hiking at various difficulty levels. The classification is based on the gradient conditions and provides the following orientation: Green = easy gradient / Blue = medium gradient / Red = strong gradient on short sections. The paths are not typical long hiking trails, but rather short and attractive hiking trails that can motivate everyone to compensate for lack of exercise.
