Möhnesee shore tour

The bike tour circles a large part of Lake Möhnesee, almost always close to the shore, so that orientation is not a big challenge. This leaves even more time for the view from both the north and south banks of the Westphalian Sea and for the attractions along the route. If we start the circular tour on the north bank, the beautifully designed Seepark is a great option. Both the various play and sports facilities for young and old, as well as the diverse gastronomic offers, can be used as an introduction or conclusion to the bike tour. Heading east, we pass by the Uferlos beach (with entrance fee!), where a sandy beach created in the summer invites you to linger. Next stop is the romantic Kanzelbrücke, whose bridge pillars protrude from the water like church pulpits and provide a picturesque photo opportunity. The nearby district of Völlinghausen offers leisure activities such as mini golf, the wildlife park (admission is free!), and dining options. After crossing the Kanzelbrücke, we continue along the south bank towards the west. The Möhneaue-Völlinghausen information trail allows cyclists and pedestrians to discover the ecological and cultural-historical features of the area at 12 info stations over a length of 2.4 kilometers. The pedestrian and cyclist bridge at Körbecke would be a shortcut to return to Seepark. After crossing the Delecker Bridge, short detours are worthwhile, for example, turning left at the roundabout to reach the public bathing area with a sunbathing lawn. Or turning right at the roundabout and shortly thereafter uphill to the interesting Drüggelter Chapel on the left, surrounded by many myths about its history. From here it's just a few more kilometers back to Seepark in Körbecke.
