Circular hike Suttrop via "Bohnenburg"

We leave the parking lot "Hardtstadion" to the right onto Hardtstraße and turn right onto Soestweg shortly afterwards. After a barn on the right side of the path, we turn right onto the asphalt road, which soon turns into an unpaved path. We follow this downhill until we reach a crossroads. Here we turn right onto the path marked with a diamond, circle, and white square. After a long ascent on this route behind a long bend to the right, we reach a depression. At this point, a wide gravel path without markings branches off sharply to the left, which we follow. At the corner of the junction, there are two older tree stumps in the shade of a maple tree. We follow this gravel path for a long time (initially heading approximately north and later turning approximately west). At the end of the gravel path, it continues as an unpaved path, which we do not follow. Instead, we turn left into an inconspicuous path almost covered by branches and approach the forest inn "Bohnenburg", which invites us to take a break. After the break, we continue west on the asphalt road until it makes a left turn. Here we keep right and follow the beaten path leading through the grass until we reach the edge of the forest and then follow the path to the left to the asphalt road. We first follow this road to the left, then turn right onto an asphalt road at the next opportunity (sign A 4). The path later turns into gravel and then meets an asphalt road at a sharp angle after some time, which we continue to follow (do not go steeply uphill to the left!!!). After passing by the former restaurant Luig "Zur rostigen Säge", we soon reach the entrance to the grounds of the Westfälische Klinik. We pass by the entrance hut and enter the clinic park. Here we first turn right onto the path, then turn left behind the administrative building to continue uphill on the street, keeping right straight ahead and leaving the clinic grounds near the cemetery chapel. Our path continues straight ahead and we reach "Mühlweg". At the intersection, we turn left onto "Am Appenberg", follow this until we reach "Soestweg", turn left, and then turn right onto "Hardtweg" to return to our parking lot.
