The Eisernhardt with the concrete transmission tower near the 482 meter high summit is probably the most distinctive mountain in Siegen and is clearly visible from Hesse, the Sauerland and the Westerwald. The Siegerland, and thus also the Eisernhardt, has a mining tradition that is two and a half millennia old. The Bergbau Siegerland association has created a mining circular hiking trail on the Eisernhardt, which the jogger also follows in short sections. Some galleries of the old mines have been uncovered and provided with a new, nature-friendly development in the mouth area. In doing so, they adhered to templates from the 19th century in order to design the gallery entrances as authentically as possible. On 26 panels, the hiker receives information on the topics of mining in the Siegerland and is led to the almost forgotten relics of the mining history of the Siegerland. The route was developed by the regional running portal "Laufen 57", Frank Steinseifer.
