Come along on a tour dedicated to Master Adebar. With a bit of luck, you might also see one or the other stork at its nest, especially during the breeding season from April to approximately August. And if that's not enough, the route will lead you along quiet paths through lush meadows, past charming Rhine villages, and past interesting monuments and old buildings.
Discover along the way next to the stork nests:
- the idyllic village of Löhnen, the southernmost Warftendorf in Germany
- the historic and over 1000-year-old Rhine village of Götterswickerhamm with the Evangelical Church designed by Prussian architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel, the medieval Gerichtslinde, and the iconic tower "Haus Storchennest"
- the panoramic view from the Rhine dike over the course of the river and the surrounding meadows
- sheep grazing on the dike or casually blocking the way while chewing
- The traces of the Allies' Rhine crossing in the spring of 1945 (Deichkreuz Ork, monument to the Rhine breakthrough in Mehrum)
Enjoy food and drink along the way in the restaurants in Spellen, Ork, or Götterswickerhamm.
Info: The locations of the stork nests are marked on the map with a paw symbol and can therefore be easily found.
