Espelkamp - Cross-border commuter route

Espelkamp is only a few kilometers away from the state border between North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony. The destination is the Lower Saxon town of Diepenau. Starting in the center of Espelkamp, through the colorful Burano district and the Brandenburger Ring, you will pass by the Witch's Hill and into the Osterwald forest. Along peaceful forest and field paths, you will then reach the state border and drive to the beautiful landscape lake Maringen Diek. Passing by the Danielskirche from the year 1641, you will arrive in the town center. A lovingly restored train station now serves as a wedding station for those looking to get married and is a special location. Continuing on, you will come across a windmill. The bike path now leads to the large stone in Tonnenheide, where regular baking days take place. In a nearby inn and along the way in Schmalge, there is the opportunity to stop for refreshments. On the way back to the starting point, you will pass through the area of the renatured Kleine Aue and by the colorful facades of Schweriner Straße.
