Espelkamp - Three Mill Ride

The circular route starts and ends in the Frotheim district of Espelkamp. Along quiet side streets, past beautiful half-timbered farmhouses, you will reach the large peat bog, where you can learn everything worth knowing about the bog on educational trails. The first mill on the route is located in Eickhorst, where regular baking days are held and on these days there is an opportunity for a tour. Crossing the Mittelland Canal, you will reach the windmill in Hille to take a short break. The path then leads to the large stone, a relic from the last ice age, and to the Hochzeitsmühle in Tonnenheide. The mill is out of operation and is now used for weddings. In Schmalge, you can take a break in the beer garden of a guesthouse. In the nature reserve of the State Forest, there is a former bunker hidden, which now serves as a shelter for bats. Back in Frotheim, the route passes by the 200-year-old Klus. To end the day, you can relax in a guesthouse in the center of Frotheim.
