VolumeTreasure - Mountains and Valleys: "remarkable" distant views

Starting point of the theme trail in the region Oben an der Volme is the hiking car park "Nordeler Schleifkotten" south of Niederbuschhausen (alternative entry point is the car park Schwenke with hiking overview boards at the local sports field). The hiking information boards along the trail provide insight into the impressive views & panoramas of the region, whereby the term "panorama" here not only refers to distant views, but also highlights great "sights" in the region.
Highlight of the theme trail is the detour to the sports field in Halver-Schwenke; the rest area "Gateway to South Westphalia" entices with distant views towards Breckerfeld, Lüdenscheid, and Nordhelle. A small excursion to the "Kreisch" also rewards with a fantastic view over hills and forests, meadows and fields, as well as the Ennepetalsperre.
At the lowest point of the route, after 5 km, lies the Löher Mühle (Löhrmühle) in the Ennepe valley. The water-powered grain mill is first mentioned in a document from 1552, but probably existed already in the 15th century. In the 1980s, the buildings made of rubble stone and half-timbering were extensively restored. Unfortunately, the mill can only be visited from the outside, but it is definitely worth it.
Special features along the wayside: in addition to the information boards with exciting information and sometimes QR codes for further videos or audio tracks, you can also discover a treasure chest of experiences and a panoramic picture frame along the trail.
