On attractive paths through scenic areas in the southern area of Neuss, you will find landscape and nature reserves as well as worthy biotopes.

On this ecological journey, the landscape conservation area of RennbahnPark is a first highlight. This city-climate important, inner-city green space offers landscape-friendly recreational uses and green areas.

The nature reserve Uedesheimer Rheinbogen is home to numerous rare animal and plant species on 137 hectares of land, such as meadow sage or the little owl. New biotope network structures have emerged between Reckberg and Himmelsberg. In these two forests in the Rhine Low Terrace, there are late and post-glacial dune remnants that, due to their sandy soil in the urban area, represent rare dry locations.

The nature reserve Mühlenbusch is characterized by its naturally developed deciduous forest complexes. Here, among others, bats, tawny owl, black woodpecker, golden oriole, nightingale, and grass snake live.

The Hummelbach is a periodically water-carrying ditch on the edge of the Rhine Middle Terrace. Along the water, remnants of the oak-ash riparian forest and the oak-hornbeam forest are preserved. The Hummelbachaue golf course is an example of a sports facility that is well integrated into the landscape. Through extensive planting measures along the Hummelbach, this area could be ecologically enhanced.

Another beautiful highlight along the path is the Hochzeitshain at the barefoot path. Since 1996, bridal and anniversary couples have been able to plant a tree. On the adjacent area of the barefoot path, feet take center stage. A course with 17 fields offers sensual and physical perception - pure foot wellness.
