On the way, there are many highlights to discover, including the harbor with a great view, the old train station of Vlotho with a bakery, as well as the modern new construction of the sewage treatment plant. Traverse a forest section with the grave of the Rolfsmeyer family and enjoy the first panoramic view of the Porta with the Kaiser Wilhelm monument.
Another interesting section is the path through the dense forest, past the old forester. After a steep ascent and descent, you reach the Sperlsiek, followed by another uphill stretch in the shade of the forest. The highlight of this hike is the view along the castle wall. Here you have the choice between exploring the castle ruins, taking a walk around the castle, or descending directly via the Apothekerweg to the city center.

The 7 km long hike offers a varied mix of nature, history, and challenging terrain passages.
