Hardtweg (O2) Oberschledorn

The approximately five-kilometer circular hiking trail follows a small section of the Heidenstraße, a historic trade route. We pass by an old wayside shrine that recalls those long-gone times: After a sudden snowstorm in 1715, three residents of Oberschledorn helped a Waldeck carter on the steep path. However, the wooden-laden cart slipped, and the three helpers lost their lives. Another historical landmark along our way is the 1796 border stone between Kurköln and Waldeck. Walking along the edge of the forest, we head towards Niederschleidern and enjoy the wide view of the Diemelsee Nature Park. The route leads back towards Oberschledorn along a natural forest path, offering beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
