2nd stage Wilderness Trail Family Tour

Wilderness dreams, an abandoned village, and a dam larger than the Leaning Tower of Pisa! As a family-friendly option, you can shorten the second Wilderness Trail* stage in a comfortable way. You start this day trip with your family in Einruhr at the Obersee. In the morning, take a bus from there towards Vogelsang IP, stop "Forum", for about 10 minutes. The approximately 7 km hike then begins from there. Before the hike, you can visit the interesting, modern, and child-friendly exhibition 'Wilderness Dreams' at Vogelsang IP in the Eifel National Park Center. The exhibition is equipped with various interactive elements and invites you to discover the flora and fauna in the Eifel National Park. From there, you start a hike of about 3.5 km through the valley, up to the deserted village of Wollseifen. In Wollseifen, you can visit the old school and the church, partly renovated, for sightseeing. This would be a nice spot for a picnic. From Wollseifen, you continue over the Dreiborner Hochfläche, on a flat route of about 3 km, to the impressive Urft dam. Along the way, there are breathtaking views of the National Park Kermeter area, the heart of the national park, and of the Urftsee with the dam. Once you reach the impressive dam of the Urft reservoir at the bottom, you can sit on the terrace and enjoy a refreshment or snack before comfortably returning to Einruhr with the Rursee boat tour (approx. 1 hour). The Rursee boat tour runs from Easter until the end of October. Back in Einruhr, you can take a plunge into the natural adventure pool in Einruhr or visit the playground on the lake shore with your family. *The Wilderness Trail is a hiking trail that leads in four stages right through the Eifel National Park from Monschau-Höfen to Zerkall. Some sections are particularly suitable for families with children.
