Description by the author

The field path tour takes you past the following sights:

WINDMILL BRINK IN BENTORF
The Dutch windmill Brink from 1889 is the only operational windmill in Lippe. The 14-meter high mill has been under monument protection since 1984 and was extensively restored from 1990-97. As the last operational windmill in its original condition in the Weser Uplands area, it is now looked after by the museum association Kalletal after its operational closure.

ENGELSMEIER HOF
A stately solid building made of rubble stone from 1889 is the main house located by the mill pond of the former Engelsmeier Hof, which is now used as a village community center. The highlight of the complex is the converted barn. Seating areas on the premises invite you to linger. Directly opposite the historic bakehouse, there is a drinking water dispenser and a small toilet.

FOREST BATHING PATH HEIDELBECK
Relax and immerse yourself in the forest atmosphere, enjoy the forest with all your senses: that's forest bathing. This is possible for the whole family on the forest bathing path in Heidelbeck. Here, there is plenty of information and simple exercises to participate in at a total of 10 stations. The free app with audio guide is the perfect companion. There is a separate section for children.

JEWISH CEMETERY LÜDENHAUSEN
The Jewish cemetery in Lüdenhausen is a protected monument and is located just outside the village on the street "Hinter den Linden" which leads to the so-called Hexenberg with a panoramic view. The exact origin of the cemetery is unknown. Built on a hill, there are still eight tombstones with German and Hebrew inscriptions to be found today, the oldest dating back to around 1840 and the youngest from 1900.

WINDMILL BAVENHAUSEN
In a prominent position on Windberg, the windmill built in 1853 and now protected as a monument overlooks the village of Bavenhausen. Since the milling operation was shut down in 1948, the interior of the mill has been used as a reservoir for the water supply of the surrounding area since the mid-fifties. Even in the evening hours, the illuminated mill can be seen from many points in the Kalletal valley and is a true landmark of the region.
