Stage 1 Hohe Mark Cycle Route

The shimmering Pröbstingsee is the starting point of the first short stage. On a flat stretch, the route follows the Bocholter Aa to Gemen, where the stately moated castle can be found. The impressive complex now serves as a youth education centre and is well worth a stop.

The route then continues north and the Sternbusch is crossed to reach Weseke. There you can visit the local history museum and the apothecary garden. Passing fields and meadows, the first stage of the Hohe Mark RadRoute then leads to Ramsdorf and a little later Velen is reached as the destination of the stage.
