The starting point of the hiking trail "Eifelspur Dahlemer Quellenpfad" is the municipality of Dahlem. The trail is around 21 kilometers long and leads through a diverse landscape. Fields, meadows, and deciduous forests alternate. Small and large streams line the wayside. Upon reaching the Abbey of Maria Frieden, there is a clear view over the vast fields surrounding the monastery convent. Nuns still live in the monastery today, following strict rules. They produce products such as oils for body care, as well as various herbal drinks.
The hiking tour also leads to another reservoir in the northern Eifel, the Kronenburger Lake. In the immediate vicinity, the fortified historical town center of Kronenburg with its picturesque half-timbered houses creates a unique world. Today, this romantic setting is complemented by a creative scene with art galleries and craft shops. During your hike, there are special viewpoints offering views of the northern Eifel.
The circular hike can also be easily reached without a car via the train connection from Dahlem (Cologne - Trier railway line (currently running as a rail replacement service)).
